PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT CLERK
FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS
 
 
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Warren County Treasurer is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Principal Account Clerk. The Principal Account Clerk in the Warren County Treasurer’s Office is responsible for checking state/federal claims for various departments, accounts payable, on-line banking, account reconciliations, handling office mail, ordering, filling as well as other assigned functions.  Supervision may be exercised over the work of clerical staff.
 
SALARY: $52,138 (2026 Base Salary)
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration or related field: or
  2. Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration or closely-related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; or
  3. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience maintaining financial accounts and records.
 
RESIDENCY: Candidates must have been legal residents of Warren County, a contiguous county (Essex, Hamilton, Saratoga, Washington) for at least four months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
 
 
Position will be filled based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be
made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidates must meet civil service
requirements for appointment following establishment of eligible list.
