NOTICE OF VACANCY
PRINCIPAL LEGAL RECORDING CLERK
The Warren County Clerk’s office is seeking candidates for the position of Principal Legal Recording Clerk. An employee in this position administers the complex programs and processes required for the recording, filing, indexing and imaging of documents and legal instruments relating to real property transactions and civil court proceedings in the Office of the County Clerk. Responsibilities include supervision/training of subordinate employees, oversight of document processing, resolution of problem transactions and coordination of office work activities. Difficult technical or policy problems may be referred to the County Clerk for decision or review of judgment as necessary. The work is performed with the highest ethical standards under the general supervision of the County Clerk, with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Does related work as required.
SALARY: $ 57,614 (2026 Base Salary)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Promotional opportunity):
Candidate must be a current employee of the Office of the Warren County Clerk and have held permanent competitive status for one (1) year as a Senior Legal Recording Clerk or three (3) years as a Legal Recording Clerk immediately preceding the date of the exam.
The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
