Economic Development & Communications Coordinator

Position Summary
EDC Warren County is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and community-oriented Economic Development & Communications Coordinator to support and advance the organization’s mission of attracting investment, supporting existing businesses, and strengthening the regional economy. This full-time role blends economic development administration, membership engagement, communications, event coordination, and
organizational operations.
The coordinator serves as a central operational and communications hub for the organization - supporting the Board of Directors and committees, managing membership activities, maintaining digital platforms, coordinating events, and assisting with compliance, records, and internal processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, techsavvy, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a small-team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Board, Committee & Administrative Support
- Schedule, coordinate, and support Board of Directors and committee meetings, including preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes, resolutions, reference materials, and deliverables.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems and official records.
- Digitize incoming correspondence, sorting, routing, labeling and filing as necessary
- Prepare and process invoices for approval and payment in compliance with organizational policy and workflow
- Coordinate staff calendars, meetings, and organizational schedules.
- Serve as liaison with IT support vendors for technology issues.
- Support general office operations and internal workflows.
Membership Management & Engagement
- Serve as primary point of contact for EDC membership and act as liaison between members and the organization.
- Maintain membership rosters, databases, and tracking systems; analyze trends and participation metrics.
- Coordinate membership recruitment, retention, communications, invoicing coordination with CFO, and reporting.
- Maintain and update website content related to members, alliances, and partners.
- Assist with creation of membership marketing materials and outreach campaigns.
- Support member engagement activities, communications, and relationship building.
Communications & Digital Platforms
- Update and maintain website content including agendas, meetings, reports, resolutions, and organizational updates.
- Support website enhancements, navigation, content alignment, accessibility, and compliance in coordination with external vendors.
- Contribute to marketing, communications, outreach, and client engagement initiatives
- Assist with development and dissemination of organizational and marketing materials, presentations, and digital content across multiple platforms and formats.
- Monitor website performance and recommend improvements.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for organizational meetings, forums, training, and special events.
- Establish and maintain relationships with venues, vendors, and service providers.
- Manage event planning details including contracts, seating, catering, guest coordination, and payment processing.
- Support on-site event execution and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Organizational Operations & Compliance
- Support maintenance and updates to employee policies, onboarding and offboarding materials, and internal documentation.
- Assist with organizational grant applications, research, tracking and reporting as needed.
- Assist with data tracking, reporting, and process improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of professionalism and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, cloud-based tools, databases, and website content management systems.
- Comfort working with digital platforms, website updates, and basic analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Experience in office administration, communications, event coordination, or economic development preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, public administration, marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time position, generally Monday–Friday, with occasional evening events.
- In-person role based in Glens Falls, NY with some flexibility.
