DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.\n\nThe Adirondack Nonprofit Business Council\, a program of the ARCC\, will be holding their 5th Annual Synergistic Community Symposium.\n\n \n\nPresented by Thomas Simcoe\, \n\n\nBond\, Schoeneck & King\, PLLC\n\n\n\n \n\nThis presentation is for nonprofit executives\, board members and potential board members from the business community whose connections are vital to support and sustain our flourishing region.\n\n \n\nWe will address some of the challenges of being a non-profit board member as well as offer tips that outline the responsibilities of a board appointment.\n\n The governing board is the legal heart of every nonprofit organization. Knowing the fundamentals of the law of nonprofit boards empowers board leadership and nonprofit executives to act with maximum impact.  \n\n \n\nIn this presentation\, you will learn the core legal principles of governance documents and the relationship among them\, the legal duties of boards\, board members and officers\, when boards should - and shouldn't - act\, the respective purviews of boards and executives\, who boards are accountable to\, and how all of the foregoing sets the stage for major board decisions and corporate lifecycle events.\n\n\n\n*ARCC's Cancelation Policy: A registration is a reservation and we look forward to you joining us.  To best support our venue partners and event attendees\, a refund for any reservation will require 72 hours notice for cancellation. Reserved no shows will be charged the full price.
