Later to be adjusted to Triple Negative breast cancer. Laura underwent 4 months of chemotherapy\, 30 days of radiation therapy\, a double mastectomy and 6 additional surgeries during the course of treatment. Laura just celebrated her 2nd year as a Survivor on September 12\, 2021.\n\n \n\n"Staying positive doesn't mean you have to be happy all the time. It means that even on hard days\, you know there are better ones coming."\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHilary Stec- Assistant Vice President\, HR Business Partner & Manager of HRIS at Marshall Sterling Insurance\, originally from Newfane\, NY\, in Niagara County\, the western corner of the state. She attended SUNY Potsdam College\, graduating with a degree in Anthropology. While there\, she met and later married\, Dan Stec\, a graduate of Clarkson University. She has been married to Dan for more than 30 years\, first as a military spouse moving all over the US in his Navy career\, until he left the service and they returned to Dan's hometown\, Queensbury\, NY where they have lived for the past 23 years. Upon earning her MBA from the College of Saint Rose in August 2001\, she transitioned into Human Resources. She has worked for non-profit\, profit\, publicly traded\, and private businesses in her career. The industries span property management\, human services\, manufacturing\, entertainment and now insurance & financial services. \n\n\n\n\n\nVickie Yattaw- Oncology Education and Support Services Manager\, CR Wood Cancer Center\, an oncology nurse who works with patients from the time of diagnosis through survivorship\, helping them with education\, support and resources needed after a diagnosis of cancer. I have worked in the C. R Wood Cancer Center for 17 years and oversee two nurse navigators\, a financial navigator\, oncology social worker\, health psychologist and mental health counselor\, as well as the Cancer Services program that provides free breast cervical and colorectal screenings for Uninsured. Vickie also oversees the genetics and hereditary cancer program at the CR Wood Cancer Center.\n\n\n\n \n \nFollowing the presentation\, and Q&A\, will be the opportunity for networking.
